IPAA independent petroleum association of america, america's oil and gas producers

Welcome to IPAA's Political Toolkit

Energy issues have played a large role in the legislative calendar of the 110th Congress and are likely to return in the 111th Congress.  IPAA member companies are helping shape the landscape of the new Congress through their participation in the IPAA Prosperity Project.  In the 2008 election cycle, members and their employees used the site to identify candidates who support America’s oil and natural gas producers and then went to the polls to cast their votes for those candidates.

In 2009, IPAA will continue using these and other tools to communicate with elected officials as the energy debate persists in the new Congress.  We support elected officials that advocate pro-oil and natural gas policies favorable to the interests of IPAA’s members.  Their commitment to these policies is evaluated through any past voting records, policy statements and questionnaires.

If you haven’t gotten involved yet, it’s not too late.  Now is the time to begin providing your employees with information on the issues that are of importance to our industry.  By going to www.ipaa.org/grassroots, you and your employees can find out the issues that are being debated before Congress and discover where candidates and incumbents stand on the issues that affect your company and your job.
